Social Media Marketing - Connecting Individuals
With the several tragedies that have occurred around our world, it is important that we all unite together. In troubling times, it is vital for us to react in a positive manner trying to help the individuals affected. We saw this done by many companies after the recent natural disasters such as hurricane Harvey. It is always inspiring to see what companies are doing to help out with the current events. After the recent tragedy in Las Vegas, we saw a lot of turmoil from individuals on Social Media. It sparked several conversations about gun control and has pushed for more strict laws. Among all the debate and chaos, some companies have been stepping up to help victims of this tragedy. One of these companies is Lyft. As can be seen on their Facebook post, they are offering free rides for individuals to go to blood donation centers to help out the victims who are still in the hospital recovering from injuries. It is encouraging to see during these dark times companies like Lyft are stepping beyond the debates and taking action to help.

Wow! I did not know that Lyft was doing this. Social media is such a great platform to reach such a large audience, and I think that is part of the reason that many companies turn toward it to show their brand values. It's cool to see that Lyft, along with other companies, are finding ways to make a positive out of such a horrible situation rather than get caught up in debate or opinions.

ReplyDeleteI had no idea Lyft was doing this! Even in times of hardships and tragedy, I believe we can become closer with each other as a community and I think social media is a huge component to help build our community back up again.

ReplyDeleteIt seems that Lyft has been able to positively differentiate itself from other ride share services like Uber in unique ways like this. It would be interesting to look at Uber and see what sort of campaigns they have used to promote community values.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleasantly surprised to hear about the efforts that Lyft is putting forward in an attempt to help out with the Lav Vegas tragedy. Doing something other than sending money is always a good way to help (if the company can't financially give money). Thanks for sharing!
